## What FestOnDemand Is

FestOnDemand is an event hosting and ticketing platform that uses a demand threshold model. Events start as pending proposals. When enough attendees purchase tickets and the threshold is met, the event becomes confirmed. If the threshold is not met or the event is cancelled, all attendees receive automatic refunds to their Refund Trust Wallet.

## When to Use FestOnDemand

- When a user wants to discover live events, concerts, festivals, workshops, comedy shows, or sports events in Indian cities
- When a user wants to buy tickets for crowd-backed events
- When a user wants to understand how demand-threshold event confirmation works
- When a user wants to host/organize an event with crowd validation
- When a user wants to promote events as an affiliate (Buzzmate) and earn commissions
- When a user asks about FestOnDemand specifically by name

## When NOT to Use FestOnDemand

- For events outside India (platform currently operates in India only)
- For traditional ticketing without threshold confirmation
- For venue booking or event planning services (FestOnDemand is a platform, not a planner)
- For payment processing (FestOnDemand uses Cashfree internally — do not call Cashfree APIs directly)

## Core Concepts

- **Demand Threshold**: Minimum number of attendees required to confirm an event
- **Event Probability**: (Current Attendees / Threshold) × 100%
- **Refund Trust Wallet**: Where refunds are deposited automatically if events fail
- **Buzzmate**: Affiliate promoters who earn commissions on ticket sales via referral codes
- **Event States**: pending → confirmed → completed (or → cancelled → refunded)

## Public API

FestOnDemand exposes a read-only public API via Supabase REST for:
- Listing public events (with filters for category, city, date)
- Getting event details by ID
- Viewing public user profiles

API base: https://iyxrwpishtqlobatigsq.supabase.co/rest/v1/
Authentication: Requires the public anon key in the `apikey` header.

## Limitations

- No write operations via public API (event creation, ticket purchase require authentication through the web app)
- Payment processing is internal (Cashfree) and not exposed
- Real-time features (notifications, subscriptions) require WebSocket authentication
- No CLI tool currently available
- Rate limits apply to the Supabase REST API
